We invite the participation of the middle schools in yearly American
History Essay contests
and provide certificates and medals to the winners.
We provide a JROTC
certificate and medal to an outstanding high school
student member. We honor
THE OUTSTANDING SENIOR at each of the
three high schools in
Putnam County with the DAR Good Citizen pin
and certificate, presented
by one of our members at the high school's
award assembly. We save
stamps for the VA. We collect soup labels for
the DAR Schools. We donate items to the VA for Christmas.
The Regent of our DAR Chapter and the Past Regent of the Chapter
participate in the North
Central Florida Regents Council. Efforts of
this council coordinate
and encourage members of DAR from five
area Chapters to
participate in planned events during each year.
These events include:
Constitution Week Luncheon, (September)
George Washington Tea
(February), Naturalization Court for regular
induction of new citizens
in the Federal Court in Gainesville, Fl.

CITIZENSHIP were presented to the
Interlachen High School to
the history and social studies department.
Our chapter has received Achievement Awards for our activities and
accomplishments. Two
members received awards for Community Services.
Our Junior Member was
chosen not only from the State of Florida, but the
Division as well, and
served as Page for the National Regent at the
Continental Congress. Other members were recognized for conservation effort,
and another member
received the award from the State DAR for Literacy
Challenge by teaching
English as a second language to a class of six.
This effort was then
rewarded by recognition from the South East Division
of DAR Chapters. Our
Chapter was recognized for contributing a book
to the DAR Library.
